Wendy Watson was born on July 7, 1942. She earned her B.A. degree from Bryn Mawr College in 1964. She is the daughter of Aldren Watson and Nancy Dingham Watson and sister of Clyde Watson, all noted children's books authors and illustrators. Anne Pellowski was born in Pine Creek, WI, in 1933. She earned a B. A. from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, MN, and an M. S. L. S. with honors from Columbia University in 1959. After several jobs as a children's librarian and English instructor, she began working for the U. S. Committee for UNICEF as director of the Information Center on Children's Cultures.
